Surgical Support Specialist
Boston West Hospital is seeking a skilled Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join our Theatre team. As an ODP, you will provide critical support to our surgical teams, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to surgeons and anaesthetists during procedures.
- Assist with patient preparation, including administering medications and applying dressings.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment within the operating room.
- Collaborate with theatre staff to ensure seamless transitions during procedures.
- Participate in post-operative care, ensuring that patients receive appropriate support and treatment.
Requirements:
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Previous experience as an Operating Department Practitioner or Scrub Nurse.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Able to remain calm under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
Salary: An estimated annual salary of £40,000 - £50,000, depending on experience.
