Head of PR and Communications

The purpose of the role:
Lead and inspire the PR & Communications team, creating a compelling communications strategy to drive awareness of our brand and parks and supporting the Holidays Sales and Holiday Home Sales marketing and communication strategies. Areas of focus include proactive and reactive customer PR, Holiday Home Owner communications, internal communications, and events.
What you will be doing:
- Create integrated customer/owner PR campaigns that raise PDR Holiday and Holiday Home Sale awareness and drive consideration.
- Work closely with the Corporate Communications/ESG team and Park Operations to ensure all communications are aligned during Crisis.
- Be a key point of contact for out of hours PR & Comms support.
- Work closely with external press office Fleet Street Communications.
- Working closely with Head of Corporate and ESG regarding any brand reputation matters and Crisis Communications.
- Own and administer internal Workplace platform as main communication tool across the business. Monitor analytics and target disengaged park / teams / G30 / G50 where necessary.
- Oversee the digital content plan for LinkedIn/Website/Workplace and ensure an effective strategy.
- Responsible for leading a team of 30+ people to deliver two annual conferences with approximately 1000 delegates across the 2 events.
- Collation of all Executive presentation decks.
- Liaison with C Suite on the run up, during and post event including all feedback and lessons learned.
- Liaison with production company, Tech and AV teams, entertainment teams and venues.
- Management of strict events budget line.
- Support the Owner comms team to maximise opportunity, review strategy / tone of voice and implement change where necessary.
- Responsible for developing and leading internal communications to all 10,000 members of staff including:
- Internal announcements
- Developing and producing communication plans for all transformational projects
- Developing and delivering a 12-month internal communications plan to keep parks and central support engaged.
- Responsible for the management of Workplace and leading an internal engagement piece to maximise usage of the platform
- Including Workplace induction for new starters
- Assist key stakeholders with communication updates from teams and key projects.
- Support Operations with regular communication updates to the business.
- Lead the PR & Communications team, providing training and guidance to make the team ‘best in class.’
- Manage our partners, ensuring they are given clear direction and add value.
Some of the skills and experience we are looking for:
- Proven work experience as a Head of PR / Senior PR Manager or similar.
- Solid experience of creating and coordinating successful PR campaigns.
- Expertise in different social networks, including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent organisation and planning skills.
- Creative thinker.
- Strong team leadership experience.
- Ability to foster effective relationships with key colleagues and external partners.
