- Reporting to the Head of Finance we are seeking a Finance and Payroll Officer to work within our small Finance Team. The role is responsible for managing the day-to-day finances of Coquet Trust, including book-keeping, payroll, payments and invoicing. You will work with the CEO and wider Senior Leadership Team, supporting the budgeting and forecasting process, management of project budgets, and implementing process improvements. This role is also aimed to assist in the organisation and smooth running of administration,- Finance and Payroll procedures within the Trust.**Role duties include**:
- Month end book-keeping ensuring all transactions are posted to the correct GL code and production of management accounts up to trial balance and management of a large volume of general ledgers.
- Monthly payroll including collation of monthly payroll data, ensuring employee, NI and pension payments are made on a timely basis, payslips are sent out
- Responsible for managing payment process, ensuring the correct governance is followed and processing payments through the bank
- Invoicing customers to ensure these are sent out and cash received on a timely basis
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process by helping to collate data and create financial forecasts
- Be able to recommend process improvements and support the transition to best practise processes and documentation
- Support in the production of monthly reports and management accounts for budget holders, SMT and Trustees as required.
- Developing and ensuring accuracy of the annual accounts for reporting to Charity Commission and external sharing
- Accurately processing fundraising income, including cheques and cash, vouchers, direct debits, payroll giving and from online donation platforms (Just Giving, Virgin Money Giving, Facebook) within agreed timescales and in line with provided procedures.
- Undertake any other duties and reasonable requests in keeping with the nature of this post and to support the Trust.

**Skills**:
- Excellent communication skills- Able to identify issues, make recommendations and implement improvements- High attention to detail and accuracy- Excellent organisational, management and communication skills- Excellent use of Excel and financial management systems, including Sage Payroll and Xero Accounts.**Knowledge and qualifications**:
- Either CIMA / AAT or ACA qualified (or working towards qualifications)- 2 years of experience of administering payroll in a medium sized organization.- Preferably previous experience of working within a charitable organization.- Experience of salary draw down schemes is desirable.- Experience of reporting to HMRC,**Benefits**:
