SEO and Content Specialist

**The Role**:
We are working with a client who have an exciting new role that will play an important part in the ongoing transformation of the company’s digital infrastructure. The SEO and Content Specialist reports to the Head of Digital and will help develop a best-in-classsearch and content strategy, through keyword research, technical and on-page SEO.
Using your knowledge and experience you will be able to identify strategies, tactics, and opportunities to increase traffic to our ecommerce website, both short and long-term. You’ll be confident using tools such as Google Search Console and Analytics andScreaming Frog to conduct ongoing site audits, keyword research and analysis, using the data to steer your plans and activities.
They are looking for someone who is data-driven, creative, and motivated, as you’ll use innovation to achieve your objectives and will actively monitor market trends and competitor performance to ensure the company maintains an agile and proactive approachto success.
**Key Duties**:
- Work with the Head of Digital, Ecommerce Manager and Digital Merchandising Manager to develop a sustainable and effective long-term SEO and content strategy
- Regular and ongoing deep-analysis of the ecommerce website to understand current search engine performance and opportunities for improvement
- Regular and ongoing keyword research and market-trend analysis, using best-practice tools, techniques, platforms, and processes
- Identify, implement, and own additional tools, platforms and partners to help meet your targets
- Work with in-house and external development teams to implement technical changes to improve organic SEO performance, including improving site speed, indexing, mobile-friendliness, crawlability, readability, and general architecture
- Write and curate optimised, market-specific copy and content to enhance on-page performance
- Identify industry-leaders and contributors as partners to provide original, customer-centric content to help grow brand awareness
- Work with the Product Marketing teams and Digital Merchandising Manager to identify and implement enhancements to product and category content, including rich descriptions and media (imagery, video), key attributes and indexing information and search-friendlynaming and description conventions
- Align with the Social Media Executive to create and distribute rich, relevant content and encourage external links and affiliations
- Identify and develop link building opportunities as part of the overall SEO strategy
- Implement competitor analysis activities and use data to inform keyword and site optimisation
- Develop and present weekly and monthly performance reports to demonstrate growth against KPIs, which will include organic performance against keywords as well as on-site traffic, conversion, engagement, and retention
- Keep abreast of algorithm updates and changes and market/technology insights
- Ensure optimised data feeds, including Google and Amazon, where applicable
**Requirements**:
- University degree or equivalent
- GCSE English and maths or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years SEO and content experience, with demonstrable technical knowledge
- Confident working with Google Analytics, Search Console and Data Studio to analyse performance and keyword trends
- Self-sufficient and confident using audit, keyword and analytical tools including Screaming Frog, SEM Rush, Ahrefs or equivalent
- Strong understanding of on-page and product content optimisation and analysis
- Confident copywriter and editor
