**Job description**:
The Counter-Extremism Secretariat leads on the effective governance of the newly established Cross-Government Counter-Extremism Board and the Counter-Extremism Due Diligence Board. The Counter-Extremism Board provides strategic leadership and coordination of the counter-extremism workstreams across Whitehall. The Due Diligence Board supports Senior Leaders and Ministers on decisions concerning funding and engagement. The team is integral in ensuring the effective management of governance mechanisms, to aid the delivery of key departmental objectives.
- Lead on internal and external stakeholder engagement, collaborating with Private Offices, Senior Officials and Ministers to ensure effective governance management and delivery of the Counter-Extremism and Due Diligence Board.
- Collaborate with internal teams and Other Government Departments (OGDs) to agree future agenda items and follow up on required Board actions.
- Support and advise Board Chairs and members, providing high quality written briefings.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, being the primary point of contact for Board members on counter-extremism matters.
- Lead on administrative tasks for Counter-Extremism and Due Diligence Board drafting and editing concise, accurate minutes and delivering them promptly.
- Conduct a regular review of governance structures and horizon scan to assess whether existing governance mechanisms can support arising priorities.
- Lead on counter-extremism business management commissions inputting on programme delivery reports.
