To assist the Group Manager and Directorate Support Manager to ensure capacity is provided to meet the needs of the service, this will include the specialties of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Ear, Nose and Throat and Orthodontics for routine and fast track referred patients.

You will take a lead role in negotiating capacity, working with Consultants, nurses (in-patient, out-patient and theatre settings) and administrative staff to ensure effective use of capacity.

You will work against agreed action plans for specific areas to ensure delivery of targets associated with 18-week referral to treatment targets and cancer targets. This includes all outpatient areas, treatment areas, inpatient and day case service provision and clinics held externally at other
hospitals.

You should have excellent communication and organisational skills and an ability to work under pressure.

To take responsibility for the monitoring of the Directorate’s waiting lists.

To assist with the monitoring of the performance of the Government/Trust targets.

To support the Clinical Director to ensure clinic templates are appropriate to meet the needs of the service and in line with agree job plans.

To produce reports and information from the Trust’s PAS system / informational portal to support delivery of activity targets by identifying areas of pressure and or variance that need to be addressed.

To co-ordinate and manage Consultant / Medical staff work rota’s for delivery of elective activity.

Develop and maintain efficient and effective office and information systems including databases, to support and effectively manage the established processes to enable the clinicians to meet the necessary clinical standards.

To assist in identifying capacity issues to ensure all Targets are met.

To provide a robust system to monitor Service Level Agreements within the Directorate and highlight variance to activity and income.

To monitor all additional clinical sessions undertaken by medical staff and ensure that the Finance Department are notified on a regular basis.

To take the lead on updating activity plans including recovery plans.

To continually review the provision of patient service delivery and identify areas for efficiencies and/or improvement.

Attend and support regular meetings both internally and externally to monitor the service provision.
