Westminster, United Kingdom City of Westminster Council Full time

**About Us**:
**THE EXTRAORDINARY STORY OF SERENA’S VISION**

Growth, Planning and Housing in Westminster City Council is a world of extraordinary stories. Where innovative and open-minded people bring everything to the cause. Even expertise from surprising places.

Take Serena. She is an absolute force of nature at the heart of our Church Street regeneration. And she puts the residents first in everything. Serena’s vision is clear. Regeneration isn’t just about bricks and concrete. It’s about communities. It’s about the environment. It’s about the lives of people and how they feel about where they call home. Serena is their advocate, making sure residents’ voices aren’t just heard, but drive the changes we’re making. The future is safe in her hands.

Please view the extraordinary story of Serena’s Vision **here**.

**The Role**:
As External Funding and Compliance Officer you can make your own powerful contribution to Westminster’s success by supporting the coordination our externally funded projects around business, and place. It’ll be your task to help establish, implement and manage robust monitoring, tracking, reporting and evaluation mechanisms in accordance with operational, audit, quality management, inspection and contractual requirements. And when the projects close, you’ll liaise with funding bodies and finance to ensure an orderly conclusion and maximise the ability for the Council to obtain a follow-on programme.

Maintaining systems to ensure colleagues are kept up to date with funding opportunities, and keeping a register of the bids we’re developing, you’ll identify opportunities to generate income to support the on-going sustainability of projects. Advising on potential sources of external or alternative funding, and ensuring that advice is made available at the earliest opportunity, you’ll prepare any necessary briefings, reports and presentations. We’ll also expect you to support the coordination of bid writing, working with colleagues to develop credible and deliverable proposals.

You’ll have a number of additional responsibilities - these include identifying and securing effective, value-adding partnerships that strengthen bid prospects, enhance delivery and maximise outcomes. You’ll also maintain up-to-date, professional expertise in UKSPF, GLA and UK Government Funding requirements, and ensure colleagues receive any necessary training and support.

Please refer to the **Job Description** for more information.

**About You**:
With a successful track record of bidding for and securing external and alternative funding, and of the development and implementation of externally funded programmes, you’ll have experience of economic development and regeneration issues, and good knowledge of national and local agenda/policy issues. Capable of maintaining and developing processes, procedures and information systems, and analysing qualitative and quantitative data, you’ll be ready to work across boundaries and facilitate cross-cutting activities.

You should have significant experience of delivery through partnership, the ability to work in a high-pressure environment while meeting tight deadlines and challenging targets, and be capable of planning and organising work of the highest quality. Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills will see you establish and build productive partnerships and working relationships, while your excellent attention to detail and proactive approach to problem solving will allow you to produce work with a high degree of accuracy.

We’ll expect you to have confident IT skills with a particular focus on project management software such as MS Project, and you’ll also have the ability to determine, analyse, monitor and evaluate performance indicators and economic data, and present complex information in an understandable way.
