**Activity Co-ordinator**
- Temporary role with permanent employment possible at end of contract_

We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic individual to help provide meaningful occupation to adults with learning disabilities and autism, through activity provision.

The successful applicant will be both friendly and professional, with a respectful attitude and understanding of different lifestyles and backgrounds. They will lead our existing activities and co-produce new projects with both staff and service users. They must be driven, self-motivated and conscientious.

Prior experience/interest is preferable in any of the following areas:

- Health and Social care
- Learning disabilities/autism
- Performing Arts

**Responsibilities**
- To prepare materials and resources for activities
- Prepare activity spaces to meet the needs of those attending
- Maintain stock levels of resources, equipment, and refreshments
- Assist with remote activities by organising and facilitating delivery of materials
- Assist with purchasing/collection of resources
- Report writing

**Requirements**:

- Ability to confidently lead engaging group activities featuring a wide range of disciplines (e.g, physical/wellbeing activities, performing arts, crafts and games)
- Ability to create a positive environment for service users
- Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and non-verbally.
- Must be patient and have pathos when communicating with service users who may have communication difficulties, be repetitive, have limited capacity to retain information.
- Must be observant and adaptable
- need to effectively “think on you feet”, respond and adapt where interruptions or unexpected change of circumstances occur.
- To take direction from senior staff but use own initiative to carry out tasks independently.
- Confident phone manner
- Good written English and ICT skills

**Desirable Skills**
- Driver with own vehicle
- Prior experience working with adults with learning disabilities, autism or other complex needs.
- Specific prior knowledge or experience of any of our core activity types would be advantageous - i.e., performing arts, choir, cookery, arts and crafts, physical exercise, skills-based training activities.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint may assist with design and delivery of certain activities.
- Good working knowledge of wider social media platforms, i.e., Instagram, YouTube, Twitter and TikTok to help promote the Charity’s activities and related events.

**Hours and Place of work**

**Normal working days**: Monday - Friday

**Normal working hours**: 9am - 4:30pm (+6pm-8pm on the last Friday of each month)

**Normal place of work**:Rhodes Bank Chambers, 184-188 Union Street, Oldham, OL1 1EN
- Days, hours, and location of work may vary, including some evening and weekend work, as well as off-site activities such as trips or use of alternate venues._

**Salary**: £1,701.18 per month

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
