**Location**: Abbey House/Hybrid

We are looking for someone to join our Technical Support Team. You and your colleagues will provide vital and comprehensive technical support for the Waste Projects Team and staff in the Environmental Services Team.

**The main duties and responsibilities will be to**:

- provide general administrative support to the Waste Projects Manager, Environmental Services Team Leaders and all members of the team as requested, including, formatting and collating of documents, processing of incoming and outgoing post, booking meetings, printing and photocopying.
- raise requisitions, sales orders, code invoices and deal with invoice queries, set up new suppliers using the Council’s financial management system (Agresso) and in accordance with corporate targets. Action weekly ‘invoices awaiting payment report’ and monthly monitoring of open purchase orders.
- arrange internal and external meetings, including booking rooms, organising and purchasing refreshments attending to take notes and follow up on actions where required.
- make bookings for bulky waste collections and take payments.
- handle complaints over the phone or in writing, whilst keeping a professional manner and following policy and procedures.
- collate information for FOI (and similar) information requests, complaints, enquiries etc.
- produce and maintain procedures for tasks within the job role.
- liaise with third-party providers on service requests

The duties may vary from time to time without changing the nature of the post or the level of responsibility and the post holder may also be required to carry out any other duties appropriate to the grading of the post.

**Your essential skills, knowledge and experience**
- two years experience of administration in a busy office environment
- excellent attention to detail and organisational skills and competent with figure work
- sound written and verbal communication skills
- ability to adapt to using different databases and systems
- ability to adapt depending upon job requests coming in, with patience and diplomacy
- ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- able to work in a team and on own initiative with mínimal supervision
- ability to multi task
- keen to be part of a shared service and to contribute to new ways of working and new initiatives
- keen to work to quality standards and to achieve team performance targets

**Your essential qualifications**
- 5 GCSE’s grades A-C or equivalent to include English and Maths

**If you have the following experience or qualifications - it’s a bonus**
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in MS Word and Excel
- experience of working in a similar role in local government
