This is a great opportunity to join the Customer Operations team to work as a Credit Specialist for our industrial, commercial, small, and micro business customers. Reporting into the Cash and Collections Manager, you will be responsible for taking ownership of the liquidation/administration process as well as credit risk management and reporting/analysis to support improved processes; you will also work as part of a team to achieve and support collections targets.

**What’s the role?**

We’ll entrust you with:

- Leading on the submission of proof of debt claims and consulting with Insolvency Practitioners and Administrators to ensure Shell Energy UK’s (SEUK) exposure is managed.
- Conducting Land Registry & other investigative searches to establish liability and manage accounts through to resolution.
- Making proactive use of the Experian credit risk management system to identify customers within SEUK portfolio at risk of failure.
- Mitigating Shell Energy UK credit risk and taking necessary escalation action as appropriate.
- Conducting ad hoc tasks to support the achievement of monthly collection targets.

**What we need from you**

You’ll ideally have:

- Experience within a Credit Control/Finance/Accounts Receivable team.
- Excellent telephone manner, coupled with great interpersonal skills.
- Experience in speaking to Insolvency Practitioners, Administrators and Customers and having an assertive conversation regarding arrears on accounts.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- A positive attitude with a desire to learn and develop skills.
- The ability to self-manage and take ownership.
- The ability to proactively identify process and system improvements to make recommendations.
- A positive, enthusiastic player with a flexible attitude to daily tasks.
