In this newly created role, your remit will include;
- Ensure the Health and Standards of the project are consistently met
- Play a key role in the site integrated H&S team
- Give competent advice across a multi-functional / discipline project
- Carry out all duties with full regard to all policies, plans and procedures
- Build strong HSE relationships with Contractors
- Monitor the working practices of employees and contractors regarding health and safety, environment and welfare
- Carry out HSE inspections across the site in line with the MEH Assurance Schedule
- Undertake such additional tasks as are reasonably commensurate with the level of the post
- Share best practices and lessons learnt from their area of responsibility to allow for continuous improvement
- Proactively engage with site Safety Representatives
- Conduct audits of MEH site activities and sub-contractor operations.
- Record the findings of audit reports and inspections in line with the HSSE Management system requirements and the Assurance Schedule
- Intervene when unsafe practices are observed, offer solutions to observations made.
- Observe and record ‘At Risk’ & ‘Reduce Risk’ behaviours
- Have a Strong working knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
- Are NEBOSH qualified - general certificate/NEBOSH construction certificate or equivalent.
- Are IOSH or similar members.
- Have a Strong construction or engineering background, used to working in a multi-disciplined safety critical environment.
- Have Excellent written and spoken communication skills, able to communicate at all levels.
- IT literate - familiar with Microsoft packages.
