Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Specialist to join our team at National Oilwell Varco. As an HSE Advisor, you will play a critical role in promoting a positive Health and Safety culture in the workplace and supporting various projects to meet the requirements of our Health, Safety, and Environment Management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide HSE Guidance and Support: Offer consistent HSE guidance, training, and support across all departments to foster a proactive safety culture.
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Mitigation: Identify hazards, minimize risks, and ensure timely incident investigations with effective corrective actions.
  • Compliance Audits and Management Systems: Lead compliance audits for ISO 14001 and 45001, and maintain the HSE management system in line with relevant standards.
  • HSE Awareness and Training: Conduct HSE awareness campaigns and monitor proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on-site.
  • Occupational Health and Emergency Response: Manage occupational health provisions, emergency responses, and industrial hygiene surveys as per local legislation.
  • Third-Party Contractor Compliance: Oversee third-party contractor HSE compliance.
  • Environmental Impact Assessments: Regularly review and update environmental impact assessments, monitoring key aspects and objectives.
  • HSE Management Systems and Data: Develop and maintain HSE management systems and ensure all HSE data is accurately entered into company systems.
  • HSE Training and Inductions: Conduct necessary HSE training, including site inductions for new hires and contractors.
  • HSE Communications and Committee Meetings: Ensure HSE noticeboards are current and relevant, and participate in HSE communications and committee meetings.
  • Legislative Compliance and Audits: Stay updated on HSE legislation, liaise with relevant authorities, and contribute to internal audits and inspections.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience: Working experience in the manufacturing or engineering industry.
