**Job Title**: Treatment Plant Operative

**Reports to**: Treatment Plant Manager

**Place of Work**:CSG Botley Treatment Plant

**Salary**:£23,753.64 per annum

**Hours**:40 hours per week working on a shift pattern between the hours 6am and 6pm, to be agreed on a local basis. Overtime as required.

**Position**:
**Job Purpose**:
To help ensure the treatment plant is operating efficiently and safely and in compliance with the Environmental Permit, Discharge Agreement, company and local procedures.

**Key responsibilities**:

- To assist with all site operations but mainly in the treatment of waste materials and site maintenance.
- To treat incoming loads in a timely fashion and ensure that records are kept up to date and complete.
- To ensure the plant is operated in a safe and efficient manner, the correct Personal Protective Equipment is used and the Operating Procedures followed.
- To help improve and maintain housekeeping on site.
- To help ensure that all site activities are carried out in full compliance with the Company’s S.H.E. policies and all Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and regulations in order that the operations at the site do not negatively impact on human health, the environment or public amenity.
- To help ensure compliance with the discharge consent and environmental permit.
- To co-operate with management in improving operating standards and adopt a flexible approach to site tasks.
- To actively participate in maintaining site housekeeping standards by dealing with issues within personal span of control immediately and reporting all other issues to site management.
- To assist in the development and improvement of site activities, processes and procedures.

**Essential Requirements**
- Must enjoy outdoor work.
- Should be practically minded.
- Ability to work in a team or individually. Ability to self-supervise and supervise others.
- Ability to follow instructions and ask questions when unsure.
- Good communication skills as this is a customer facing role.
- Consistent & methodical approach to work.
- Flexible and co-operative attitude and approach.
- A desire to learn and aspirations to progress within a career in the waste industry.

**Other qualities that would benefit the position**:

- Experience / licence for Counterbalance FLT
- Experience / licence in the use of a Backhoe
- Knowledge of hazardous waste legislation and the waste industry.
- Health and Safety Knowledge / Experience.
- Full Clean Driving Licence.
- Experience of using a vacuum tanker.
