**Carbase** is a family-owned business that's grown in the last 20 years into the largest independent, pre-owned dealership in the Southwest.

We’re now seeking someone with excellent literacy, numeracy, and adept problem-solving skills, to join us as Purchase Ledger Clerk, on a 12-month contract covering Maternity leave.

This role will be based with our Bristol admin team and working within a high-volume environment (>5,000 invoices per month), so you’ll need to able to pick things up quickly and be ready to learn.

**About the role**:

- You’ll be processing invoices onto our DMS system
- Acting as the first point of contact for any and all purchase ledger related queries
- Reconciling monthly statements and requesting invoice copies from suppliers
- Untangling discrepancies and keeping close to our budget holders across the business to unpick queries and problem solve money mysteries.
- Processing and making payments for employee expenses
- With monthly and year-end reconciliations; reviewing and correcting mis-postings though invoice correction or journals.
- While distributing remittance advices to suppliers,
- And taking responsibility for general administrative tasks, such as filing of invoices, credit notes, purchase orders, supplier statements and BACS

**About you**:

- A good standard of education: GCSE English and Maths grade C or above, or Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 on the NQF or equivalent
- Attainment of Level 3 qualifications or equivalent would be advantageous
- Suitable and relevant experience in a similar role
- Good interpersonal skills
- Great communication skills
- Good IT skills including MS Excel, Word and Outlook - must be competent with spreadsheets
- The ability to manage your time and workload effectively and efficiently

**Experience and skills (desirable)**
- Experience of accounting software solutions
- Experience within the automotive industry
- Some knowledge of accounting processes including bank reconciliations.
