Who will you be working for?

What will you be doing?
Be a part of the department's leadership team and ensure the delivery of policy and standards projects, work and priorities. Support, motivate and manage direct reports, providing direction and insight to support their and other colleagues' work. Maintain strongworking relationships with colleagues across the organisation.
Key Duties:

- Be a part of the department's leadership team and work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and manage the department's workload, priorities and budget.
- Support the Policy Leads and the Head of Policy, Standards and Strategic Relationships in their work and in overseeing the work of the department.
- Support, motivate and manage direct reports, ensuring a manageable workload and the quality of their work.
- Provide direction and insight to support direct reports' development and delivery of work.
- Understand the department's budget and approve spending for areas of responsibility.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across the business and encourage and support collaborative working within and across teams.
- Manage and oversee policy projects and workstreams that support delivery of the Corporate Strategy and department workplan and priorities, including work on Business's Standards and Guidance.
- Monitor policy, legislative and other developments relevant to professional regulation
- Undertake research and provide background briefings and information for senior colleagues and Council members.
- Manage the businesses consultations and responses to external consultations, including where complex policy decisions and external advice are required.
- Lead on the development of internal and external communications promoting policy and standards work.
About you:

- Educated to degree level or equivalent essential
- Experience within a similar policy leadership position.
- Ability to lead, coach and develop direct reports while delivering operational excellence.
- Proven ability to build effective internal and external stakeholder relationships including demonstrated networking and negotiation skills and ability to manage working groups.
