I am currently recruiting for a Governance Assistant to join a rail organisation on a permanent basis in the West Midlands.

The client is looking for someone to support the Business Management team to develop, implement and improve the Civils Delivery Directorate. This will include providing a full range of secretarial and related duties.

This position offers a lot of scope for development and to get involved in a number of special projects.

The main duties of the role will include:

- Facilitating a high quality of decision making through Phase One decision making forum
- Minute taking in meetings
- Ensuring that actions are appropriately tracked
- Liaising with the Company Secretariat to ensure that future decisions are visible on the forward agenda
- Supporting the Senior Business Manager in continuous reviews of the governance arrangements
- Assisting the Business Manager in establishing any new standards and processes for decision making forums

Main skills required:

- Communication skills - including ability to produce accurate minutes of meetings and reviewing quality of submissions to decision making forums
- Stakeholder management
- Workload management and ability to balance priorities
- Influencing and negotiating skills - ability to use a range of appropriate techniques and approaches to suitable audiences
- Self-motivated

- A self-starter
- Able to take own initiative
- Ability to understand technical backgrounds
- Doc controllers
- People who have aspirations of becoming Assistant PM’s
- People with reporting backgrounds

Knowledge
- Basic Microsoft package
- Knowledge of governance processes for large, complex organisations

**Salary**: £34,672.00-£40,020.00 per year

- Monday to Friday
