We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Research Governance Team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

The post holder will join an established team working in Research Governance.

The post holder will assist in the setup of research projects across the Trust and provide a wide range of clerical support to the wider Research Governance Team.

To fulfil this role we are looking for highly motivated individual who prides themselves on their accuracy. Ideally, they will have experience of working in an office and be able to manage their own workload in order to meet departmental priorities and deadlines.

The post holder will require excellent planning and organisational skills and must be able to communicate information to a wide range of people including consultants and external stakeholders. The post holder will be expected to develop a good understanding of research and development tools and techniques.

The post holder will work on a combination of academic and commercial trials in conjunction with other members of the Research Governance Team.

**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
The main purpose of the job is to support all project management aspects within the R&D Governance team. This includes registering new research projects through the EDGE project management system and supporting their progress through the R&D governance AAC (Assess Arrange Confirm) process. They will be handling amendments, providing information to researchers, sponsors and delivery teams about R&D processes and progress.

Key Responsibilities:

- Post holder will be expected to contribute to policies and procedures
- Draft and Contribute towards metric reports
- Undertake a support role in implementing Research Governance requirements across the Trust.
- Attend relevant Trust and external meetings
- Assist with the process of registering new research projects and the ongoing process for trust assess arrange and confirmation activities
- Assist with administrative processes through the life of each research project
- Assist with invoicing for research studies.
- Assist with the general administrative needs of the R&D Governance team

Good General Education (eg. GCSE English and Maths A-C

Business Administration NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in an Administrative environment

Experience of dealing with the Public/Customer service experience

Experience of working in a Secretarial/Administrative role with a proven track record of problem solving

Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (eg. Word,Excel and Outlook)

Good Organisational skills

Able to work under pressure and to multi-task
