As part of the wider Octopus Energy group, Octopus Energy Generation sources, invests in and actively manages a range of utility scale renewable energy assets. We are looking to expand our team as we continue to scale our investments base of c£7bn.
Since entering the renewables market in 2010, Octopus Renewables has grown to become the largest investor of solar power in Europe and a leading investor in onshore wind. We currently manage an increasingly global portfolio of renewable energy assets. The operational portfolio includes over 250 energy generating companies, delivering revenue in excess of £250m pa.
We are seeking a Business Systems Administrator to join our dynamic Octopus Energy Generation team. Reporting to the Business Operations Manager, you will manage and maintain our Accounts Payable software, Yooz, and Fund Management software, eFront Invest. Your key responsibilities will include system administration, troubleshooting, user support, and collaborating with the Business Systems Analyst for onboarding new external counterparties.
You will ensure the smooth operation and reliability of our financial systems, focusing on user functionality, system setup, comprehensive user training, and enhancing system performance and data quality in collaboration with the Fund Management, Finance, and Operations teams.
This position requires an average of 3 days in the office per week
**What you'll do**:
- Act as the primary system administrator and provide first line support to system users
- Ability to troubleshoot effectively and independently manage system setup
- Lead on the update and maintenance of systems to ensure high data quality standards are met
- Support the Business Systems Analyst to roll out Yooz to external counterparties
- Lead the delivery of systems training to users
- Seek to improve existing processes, identifying improvements and efficiencies
- Work closely with a broad range of teams including system vendors, external asset managers and OEGEN’s Finance, Investments, Fund Management and Asset Management teams
**What you'll need**:
- Previous experience in system administration, particularly within financial services
- Involvement in implementing a finance system
- Financial services experience and understanding of accounting
- Experience using Microsoft365 (ideally SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, Power Apps and Visio)
- Experience in training with excellent oral communication/presentation skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrable experience of working closely with 3rd Party suppliers
- Passionate about working in energy and contributing to the energy transition
- Has great attention to detail
- Learns fast and is enthusiastic about learning new systems
- Strong numerical skills
- Excellent time management skills and organisation skills
