**The Role**

The Systems Administrator will provide best-in-class technical support for the infrastructure that supports and hosts the Veeva Vault Application. Vault is an innovative cloud-based software solution used by the Life Sciences industry that enables companies to get their critical products and services to market faster.

As a member of the European TechOps Team, the Systems Administrator will provide a high level of technical support for our Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure and architecture, including Linux operating systems, relational databases, and various software packages. You will build and configure new virtual servers, contribute toward process automation through scripting, solve and document solutions to complex problems, and work as part of a global team.

**What You’ll Do**
- Monitor alerts and troubleshoot critical production issues impacting end-users including system unavailability and data integrity issues
- Build out and deploy new infrastructure
- Provide support to developers during regular code releases
- Automation of software deployment, configuration management, and performance management in the AWS environment
- Document new processes and keep existing documentation and tools up to date as the environment changes
- Continuously learn and innovate. Participate in developing new solutions to complex problems
- Cross-train with other team members to share knowledge and learn from others

**Requirements**:

- Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
- Extensive experience in Linux OS administration in a production Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment
- Strong written/oral communication skills
- Experience with IT security in an enterprise environment
- Strong desire to learn and share knowledge with a diverse global team

**Nice to Have**
- Experience with MySQL or other relational databases
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Perl, Ruby, Bash, etc.)
- Experience with Ansible
- Knowledge of IP networking, VPNs, DNS, load balancing and firewalls
- Experience of other cloud IAAS providers (Azure, Google, IBM)
