**Team Leader - Glass Manufacturing**

ESG Group are currently seeking a strong and dynamic Team Leader to join their Night Shift team. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Team Leader will be responsible for supporting and managing the night shift team and so experience in manufacturing and people management is essential. This is a varied role covering all aspects of Factory Production, Safety, Quality, Customer Service, Maintenance and Training provision.

**This role is based on site at our factory in Witham, Essex and will typically be on a 5:00pm to 2:30am shift.**

**Job Purpose**
- Organise resources, people, workload and equipment to deliver productivity and output targets (KPI’s) for their area.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Develop and foster good working relationships with other team leaders and management to help the wider operational team to achieve business objectives.
- Ensuring company production procedures and processes are followed and adhered to at all times.
- Organise daily workload to ensure that daily targets are complete and the area is run efficiently e.g. Machines are optimised and are run at correct running speeds.
- Work with other Team Leaders and the Production Management Team to ensure that the Recut Procedure runs efficiently and effectively in your area.
- Aim to reduce all elements of internal wastage within your department i.e. glass breakage, waste. (2% KPI)
- Identify potential process improvements within your area to reduce service failure - Target DOT 99%
- Monitor and maintain consumable and tooling stock levels within your area and ensure timely completion of stock takes.
- Maintain safe working environment, housekeeping, PPE, practices and equipment
- Conduct Workplace safety inspections and assist in Accident Investigation as and when required.
- Involvement with management in all relevant health and safety issues.
- Identify potential process improvements within your area to reduce service failure.
- Ensure that Processing quality standards are maintained e.g. edgework dimensions, quality and finish is maintained, dimensional accuracy of holes/notches/cut outs etc and scratches/breakage is minimised through care and attention.
- Monitor and ensure all operators conduct the relevant quality inspections for their process, calibrate tape measures monthly, and that all production forms are completed and signed by operators.
- Ensure all remakes are recorded correctly and remake requests submitted in accordance with procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring that daily/weekly/monthly housekeeping and maintenance is completed on time, is recorded accurately and is checked and signed daily.
- Ensure that all error messages are recorded, and machinery faults are reported via MaintainX to the maintenance team and Shift manager.
- Identify training opportunities and requirements and implement team training with support from your line manager and the Training Manager
- Develop factory staff to give job enrichment and encourage flexibility (developing skills to cover other areas).
- Up skill to provide cover for the Shift Manager and to aid future progression.

- Experience in planning and organising their own time and that of their teams, able to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with internal and external customers and suppliers.

**Salary**: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
