**What is the job role?**

We are searching for an experienced **Fabricator **to join our team at Gael Force Engineering Limited based in **Inverness**. Gael Force Engineering are part of the Gael Force Group, who specialise in the building of marina pontoons, breakwaters, designing and building of feed barge operations and other aquaculture related engineering activities.

**What were looking for**:
It is the responsibility of the Fabricator to produce the various fabrications by preparing the steelworks, tack welding and full welding in accordance with the drawings.

All work is to be carried out in accordance with the shop floor procedures, method statements and non-standard method statements when necessary, and as provided for in the quality manual, any other company systems and policies.

At all times to support the maximum level of co-operation between the various company departments and to assist in the cross flow and recording of information and data.

**What youll need**:

- To ensure that the drawings and details on the Fabrication Production Control Form are fully understood and that the materials supplied conform with the details.
- To assist in the production of relevant shop floor procedures.
- To tack weld the assembly, carefully following the procedure and check against the drawing prior to welding.
- Ensure all dimensional accuracies and that the fabrication is truly formed to the requirements of the drawing.
- Fully check all welds and dimensions prior to having the Chargehand or nominated fabricator sign off the Fabrication Production Control Form.
- To assist at all times in ensuring the shop is maintained clean, tidy and safe for all employees to work.
- To finish the fabrication to the standard stated on the Fabrication Production Control Form.
- To seek information and advice from an appropriate person, whenever required and to offer any assistance to any colleague as necessary.
- Carry out 100% visual inspection of their own weld as per QD 3005 (Weld Visual Inspection Training Pack).
- Nominated fabricators will be required to carry out dimensional checks as required to sign QF 3200 Production Form.

**Job Requirements - Key Competencies, Skills, Experience and/or Training**:
**Essential**:

- The understanding of all Gael Force Engineering drawings and sketches.
- The understanding of Gael Force Engineering welding procedures.
- The formation of suitable cutting list.
- Safe manual and mechanical handling of materials.
- The accurate marking out of sheet, plate and sectional steel.
- The safe and accurate cutting of sheet, plate and sectional steels using Oxy-Propane, plasma arc, band saws, guillotines and grinders.
- The safe and accurate cleaning up of sheet, plate and sectional steels using files and grinders.
- Welding together any components using the aforementioned welding processes. The welding process chosen must be compatible with the required finish, allotted time and eventual use of the components and specifications or the drawing/weld procedure.
- To complete all relevant paperwork and co-operate the inspection process.
- The removal of all scrap and the subsequent tidying up of the area.
