**Head of Data Management - up to £77,000 - Hybrid (Up to Two Days a Week in Newport)**

**The Opportunity**

Yolk Recruitment Public Sector & Not-for-Profit team has partnered with a very interesting Civil Service Organisation who are currently undergoing a digital transformation project to modernise their whole suite of services.

We are supporting them to recruit a Head of Data Management who will work with key stakeholders to determine what needs to be achieved from the organisations use of data. This is a key role relating to their data strategy, and while it is not a hands on role, requires experience of data migration, cleansing and security.

**What the Head of Data Management will be doin**g
You will be overseeing the strategy and delivery of data services - managing ten direct reports, with matrix management responsibilities for a further 20-30. Approximately 40% of the role will focus on IT Operations, alongside the data responsibilities.
- Manage the Data Delivery team, Data Management team, and Data Quality teams.
- Oversee the delivery of and strategy of data services
- Champion the adoption and use of new data toolings to improve data quality and implement international standards
- Matrix manage additional teams
- Lead IT operations activities with other key department heads.

**What the successful Head of Data Management will bring to the team**
You will have proven experience as leader in technology, with excellent knowledge of Data Migration, Cleansing and Security. Ideally coming from a technical background like a Data Engineer or DevOps Engineer.
- You will have led and managed teams or a number of direct report.
- Expertise in data management - including technical knowledge of migrations, cleanses and security.
- Experience with informatica
- Ability to build collaborative networks of stakeholders, and effectively communicate data challenges and strategic vision, leading to a continuous improvement culture.
- Proven skills with data delivery and managing backlogs.
