Cheshire West and Chester Council brings a fresh and energetic approach to providing top quality services for its many customers and communities. West Cheshire is a place where everyone can Thrive - through our core values of Teamwork, Honesty, Respect, Innovation, Value for Money and Empowerment.

Cheshire West and Chester Council is an inclusive and dynamic place to work and considers its workforce to be of high value placing wellbeing at the forefront. With its mobile flexible working policy, great annual leave offer, Working Rewards Scheme including, holiday plus, car scheme, childcare scheme etc. workers can achieve a good work life balance, creating a happy workforce and helping to maintain good physical and mental health.

This council is committed to providing the highest possible quality service to residents. We believe there are three priority themes that will help the borough to thrive, thriving residents, thriving economy, and thriving communities.

With a strong conscience there is lots of work happening around climate change and sustainability focusing upon building greener, fairer, and stronger communities to help the Borough to thrive, with community engagement being commonplace. Welcoming diversity and change, the council is a reflective place to be, ideas and innovation are welcomed from all workers to help the service to continuously improve. At Cheshire West and Chester, we believe in sharing knowledge and different teams understanding and supporting each other.

Career progression is discussed openly throughout regular supervision with opportunities available from training - including apprenticeships to Social Work, to shadowing, secondments, progressions through grades etc.

So, wherever you are in your life, whatever stage you are at, there is something to suit you in Cheshire West and Chester, whether that be meaningful work, feeling valued in your role, career progression, pay progression or a great work life balance, this is where you will find it.

All children, young people and adults with additional needs should be enabled to have happy, healthy and successful lives.

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player who is committed to support disabled young people to live their fullest lives. Transition is the process of supporting young people and their families through the teenage years and into adulthood. A good transition should focus on a young person’s strengths and, where possible, work with the young person themselves to identify their goals and aspirations. Transition should also include parents and carers and support them to understand how their rights and responsibilities change as the young person progresses to adulthood.

You will require a thirst to learn about the up-to-date available services in the community such as voluntary agencies and charitable services. Support will be given to expand on your community knowledge; some prior knowledge is desirable.

This is a 37 hours per week post at grade 8/9 with progression through that grade.

Cheshire West and Chester Council have adopted a Local Living Wage for our employees which means that all employees will receive a minimum of £10.90 per hour for all contracted hours.
