**Adult Safeguarding Unit Administration**:
The Adult Safeguarding Unit (ASU) has three teams that sit within it, the unit covers the footprint of Cheshire West and Chester.
- Adult Safeguarding Team who have responsibility to carry out safeguarding enquires where there is an allegation of abuse by a paid member of staff e.g, domiciliary carers, nurses, and other professionals. They also support the wider Adult Social Care Teams with complex safeguarding enquiries.
- The Mental Capacity Act and DoLs Team who carry out assessments in line with the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and support the wider Adult Social Care Teams
- The Local Safeguarding Adults Board.

The admin team for the ASU provide support across all of the teams. There are expectations within the role for each team that will be met by all admin staff, along with some personal nominated tasks. The expectation is for tasks to be covered by all and to provide cover for colleagues when they are away from work.

The role of the administrative assistant is to be responsible for processing work within Adult Safeguarding so that the functions of those areas are progressed efficiently and within agreed timescales according to defined procedures.

You will be able to design, develop, monitor and maintain schedules, records and systems for work in the service area to ensure an efficient and effective service provision.

The role will require you to receive, prioritise and, where appropriate, respond to routine and more complex enquiries, both verbal and/or in writing, from a wide range of contacts using discretion in forming responses and referring matters to management as necessary so that advice on the area of work dealt with by the section is consistently given in accordance with agreed policies and within defined procedures.

The post holder will be able to demonstrate the ability to manage their workload and show initiative for developing processes and systems. Applicants will be expected to show that they have knowledge of The Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act
