Outpatient Supervisor

The Cardiothoracic Outpatient Department has an exciting opportunity for an Outpatient Supervisor to support the Outpatient Manager in delivering a first class service covering a range of clinics across Cardiology, Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery.
The role would suit an enthusiastic, motivated and forward-thinking person looking for a challenge in a post that is both interesting and varied. You will oversee the Outpatient and Cardiofile teams responsible for the smooth running of the outpatient reception and preparation of all cardiothoracic clinics to ensure we deliver service to the highest quality standards and in accordance with Trust Policies. It will involve working closely with Senior Managers and Clinicians providing information to inform decision making thus contributing to the delivery of local and national access targets.
The post holder will lead, inspire and develop an established, highly skilled team and will take on a team leader approach. You will be expected to have thorough knowledge of capacity and demand management and national targets. As an influential leader, strong people management skills and excellent communication as well as the desire to work in a patient focused environment are essential. You will also need to have excellent organisational skills, with the ability to deal sensitively and confidently with people. A good level of attention to detail is essential as is the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
To support with the management of the SYRS Cardiothoracic service outpatient department to the highest quality standards and in accordance with Trust Policies.
To work to the outpatient capacity plan developed within the Care Group and individual directorates and ensure that all targets (2 week wait, tertiary referrals, outpatient waiting times, clinic utilisation, etc) are delivered.
To manage the e-referral system.
To play a key role in the Care Group’s drive to deliver faster, more streamlined services through service redesign.
To support with the planning, development and provision of the Outpatient Services including coordination of outpatient clinics across all areas and sites within SYRS. This includes any clinic alterations in relation to the Consultant / Registrar on-call rotas, annual leave, study and duty leave.
