Special Needs Teaching Assistant, Yate, January

Bristol, United Kingdom Axcis Education Full time

A lovely special school in Yate are looking for a teaching assistant to join their team in January. This position is on-going until Easter in the first instance, but the school are ideally looking for people who will become permanent members of staff.

This is a school for SEND pupils aged 4- to 11 years old and there are roles in the primary and secondary sections. Pupils have a range of SEND needs, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Speech and Language, Down Syndrome, PMLD and SLD, SEMH and can display challenging behaviour.

Staff at the school are incredibly friendly and welcoming; very chatty and it is clearly a fun place to work. They advocate active learning as they find that students need meaningful engagement to learn, building a fun, stimulating learning environment for all.

Experience in schools is ideal but not necessary as personality is everything. They are looking for enthusiastic members of staff that are willing to get stuck in, so be full of energy and ask plenty of questions.

Hours are flexible, but ideally 8.30 to 3.30, with full and part-time possibilities. There are currently 3 TA's in the school through Axcis, and all have been there long-term and love it from day one (it’s the perfect school to start off in, but people have always decided to stay). The school is very accessible for those on public transport in addition to having a large staff car park.

If you are not interested in this role but know someone else who might be, **don't forget that we offer £150 in shopping vouchers if you refer a friend to us and we place them in the job.** For more details, contact your local Axcis office.
- This is a temporary position, unless stated otherwise._
- Axcis is an equal opportunities employer and as such we do not discriminate based on age, gender, disability, race or any other equal opportunities criteria._
- _
- The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment._
- _
- As such, you will be required to provide an up to date DBS, or be prepared to allow Axcis to process one on your behalf, in addition to other mandatory compliance checks in line with the DfE guidelines (for details please see our website)._
- _
- Axcis Education is an employment agency offering temporary supply work for daily, short-term and long-term assignments in addition to permanent positions._
- _
- You must be suitably qualified for the position advertised and be prepared to attend a face to face interview with Axcis to demonstrate your suitability for this role._
- _
- Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience._
