We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our vibrant and friendly school community. Our school is committed to providing a supportive learning environment for all pupils, with a strong focus on inclusive education and celebrating diversity.

The Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the class teacher in the delivery of lessons and whole-class teaching. You will work closely with the KS2 team to prepare students for year 6 and ensure they are engaged and able to work independently with your guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide small group intervention to support children's maths and literacy skills.
  • Assist in the delivery of educational healthcare plans (EHCPs) and differentiated learning activities.
  • Support pupils in developing essential skills, such as communication, social interaction, and independence.
  • Assist with classroom management, including supporting positive behavior and creating a safe and engaging learning environment.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEN support.

About You:

We are looking for a candidate with a genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs. You should possess:

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • A flexible and adaptable attitude, with the ability to respond to the varying needs of students.
  • A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
