These roles sit within the Youth team, within the high profile Civil Society and Youth Directorate.

The Youth team is an innovative team, that has responsibility for a range of cross cutting and high profile policy areas, including delivering the National Youth Guarantee (by 2025, every young person will have access to regular clubs and activities, adventures away from home and opportunities to volunteer), supporting the youth sector workforce, engaging with young people, and ensuring the impactful delivery of programmes like the #iwill Fund and the UK Youth Parliament..

These two roles focus on creating opportunities for young people to get involved in social action, including volunteering, fundraising, campaigning, mentoring, improving the local area, and having their voices heard in decision-making. The post holders will:

- Work closely with external partners to champion youth social action and identify new opportunities
- Promote youth social action and encourage Other Government Departments to engage with young people
- Manage the grant for the #iwill fund, disbursed by the National Lottery Community Fund, which creates a wide range of social action opportunities
- Manage the grant for the UK Youth Parliament, delivered by the British Youth Council, which provides opportunities for the views of young people to be represented
- Develop and communicate the evidence base for youth social action, including overseeing evaluations of the UKYP and #iwill fund
- Support on correspondence, briefing and other ad-hoc commissions, including on cross-cutting youth issues.

**Job description**:

- Development and maintenance of positive relationships with stakeholders including youth organisations and Other Government Departments.
- Monitoring and management of the UK Youth Parliament grant with the British Youth Council.
- Monitoring and management of the #iwill fund grant with the National Lottery Community Fund
- Coordinating research and delivery organisations to deliver the evaluation of the UK Youth Parliament
- Working closely with the National Lottery Community Fund to steer the evaluation of the #iwill fund
- Taking initiative to propose policy proposals on the future of youth social action policy
- Providing briefings for Ministers ahead of engagement opportunities with young people and submissions updating Ministers on progress and presenting new proposals

**Person specification**:
**Essential Requirements**:

- Effective stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external partners.
- Great written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to deliver complex and/or difficult messages to a variety of audiences.
- A tenacious approach to finding solutions or key pieces of information.
- Confidence working at pace as part of a team, with the ability to juggle competing priorities and deadlines to deliver results at speed.
- An interest in youth policy, particularly as it relates to the civil society and youth sectors.

Desirable Skills:

- Experience of working in or with the youth sector and/or directly with young people.
- Experience of policy development and delivery.
- Experience of project management and/or grant management
