**South Wales Police - Digital Forensics Investigator**

South Wales Police is excited to advertise for a Digital Forensics Investigator to work within the Digital Forensics Unit. We are looking for applicants with diverse skills and experiences who are innovative, driven, ambitious and above all, talented individuals who aspire to be our leaders of the future and wish to join our successful team.

This is an excellent opportunity for applicants who are looking for a full-time role to join a specialist department within South Wales Police.

In joining #TeamSWP you will be joining a leading force and one where you will be able to contribute new ideas and work to make a difference in society.

You will be joining one of the country’s top performing forces and work in an environment which is challenging and rewarding in equal measure.

South Wales Police particularly welcomes applicants from under-represented groups.

**The Role**

This is a unique opportunity to join our Digital Forensics Unit as an Investigator, progressing Digital Forensic examinations within the unit on a day-to-day basis. This will involve investigations into serious and complex crime within which technology has played a part.

Applicants will need to be highly computer literate and have knowledge of digital forensic practices, ideally with some experience of computer forensic tools (such as OpenText, Cellebrite or Magnet products) or other relevant knowledge and experience.

**The Opportunity***

You’ll also benefit from the opportunity to develop many other skills including leadership, critical thinking and team building and participate in some of the established South Wales Police training programmes.

**Network of Support**

In addition to the support of your peers, you will be allocated:

- a line manager who will provide you with general support and guidance and play a role in developing and supporting you throughout your professional studies; and
- a buddy to help ease you into your new role as well as providing on-going informal support, introducing you to a social network and being a starting point for general queries.
- Welfare support due to the disturbing nature of the material likely to be encountered

Plus, you will get support, encouragement, and opportunities to grow. You will join people who are as enthusiastic about your development as you are and who are just as keen to see you do well.

This role is not suitable for part time/job share workers due to operational requirements.
