**What will I be doing?**
We’re working to improve the lives of children in Somerset - and you’ll be a key part of that.
You’ll provide direct office-based support to our staff by arranging and prioritising operational activities which will involve engagement with our service users, members of the public, other agencies and stakeholders.
You will provide business support for the Choice Advice service two days a week.
You will act as the first point of contact for the services, actively promote and advise on the range of services relating to Special Educational Needs and Disability for children and young people from 0 - 25.
You might be required provide business support by taking the lead responsibilities for a range of financial administrative matters.
You will use reporting and recording systems to provide senior officers with management information.

The salary for this role is £16,951 - £17,574 per annum for 29.6 hours per week.
The working pattern will be Tuesday to Friday, however we can offer some flexibility to accommodate school drop off/pick up for example.
In this role you’ll be able to work partly from home, and partly in our office at The Hollies Children’s Centre in Taunton.
Somerset SENDIAS is an information, advice and support service for parents and carers with children and young people who have SEND. As a service we ensure that parents and carers can play an active and informed role in making decisions for their children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
Choice Advice is a service within the SENDIAS service that provides Information, Advice and support to parents regarding the school admissions and school admission appeal hearing process.
From 1 April 2023 the County and District councils in Somerset will be replaced by a new single unitary authority - Somerset Council. It’s an exciting time to join us as we work together with the four district councils to deliver the new council for Somerset.
