Your mission is to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and young people by ensuring their needs are met and providing a safe, positive living environment. As a leader, you're responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the home, with a primary focus on their safety and well-being. Creating a warm, homely atmosphere is essential, and actively considering the views and wishes of the young individuals, aged 8-18, you support is key.

In your role as a Team Leader, you'll contribute to each child or young person's comprehensive plan, addressing their care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs. Regular plan reviews ensure its relevance in meeting evolving needs.

Your core responsibility is to safeguard and nurture these children and young people, promptly taking protective action in line with safeguarding and child protection protocols. You'll champion children's rights, promoting equality and non-discrimination. Employing restorative practices, you'll actively involve them in resolving conflicts, fostering their accountability. Building strong partnerships with parents, family members

What you will need:
Level 3 Qualification in Health and social care or children and young people
Up to date knowledge of Child Care legislation, children's home regulations and quality standards.
Previous experience of working directly with young people with challenging behaviour or Learning difficulties.
Good report writing and numeracy skills.
Well organised with good administration skills.
Able to relate to young people with empathy and committed to a high standard of child care and to achieve the best outcomes for young people in their care.
Strong motivational, management and leadership potential.
Able to supervise, support and develop Residential Support Workers to create a cohesive team.
Good knowledge of relevant Children's Home legislation and local & national child protection procedures and protocols.
