We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Community Caretaker to join our team working across Chorlton High School and CHS South.

This is a Grade 3 role, working 35 hours per week, all year round. The full-time salary is £23,114, the hourly rate starts at £12.66.

The role is split across Saturday and Sundays and weekday evenings. Weekend hours are:
Chorlton High School - 7.30am - 2.30pm

CHS South - 7.30am - 5pm

Evening shifts start later and finish at 9.30pm - 10.30pm for both sites.

Main Purpose of the Job
- To be responsible for the safe operation of the school premises for the delivery of Community Use activities.
- To provide maintenance and security services on school sites and premises under the instruction/guidance of appropriate senior staff
- To be a responsible key holder and ensure security of the premises, grounds and its contents including monitoring CCTV or surveillance equipment where appropriate
- To undertake and maintain the cleanliness and physical appearance/environment of the designated site - inside and out, including maintenance of specialist facilities and equipment following appropriate training, where applicable
- To act as a first aider for the school.

Key skills and experience
- Practical skills with an ability to carry out caretaking duties including cleaning, manual handling, security patrols, repair work and preventative maintenance.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and hygiene procedures and precautions.
- Knowledge of moving and handling procedures and an ability to carry out tasks regarding Health and Safety procedures.
- Ability to relate well to children and adults within a school environment.
