We have a brilliant opportunity for a new Caretaker to join our team at Benchill Community Centre. This team is at the core of the community, ensuring there is always something interesting and engaging for all of our residents. This postholder will be responsible for both day to day cleaning and basic maintenance around the Centre as well as preparation for events or other service user requirements.
The successful post-holder will be working 6 hours a day Monday to Friday.
An essential part the whole community hub team, you will be working as part of a team of multi-skilled staff. The team has to provide a high quality service ensuring that communal areas as well as function rooms are clean, tidy and well maintained which includes;
- Lift
- Sports Hall
- Activity Rooms
- Waste Facilities
- Meeting Rooms
- Office Spaces
- Dining Spaces
- Communal Areas
Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- To use cleaning equipment as required and ensure all health and safety legislation and policies are adhered to.
- Ensure all rooms are fit for purpose on time for the hirers requirements including any cleaning, setting up of equipment and refreshments.
- To maintain and litter pick the ground and astro pitches in the immediate area of the facilities, keeping grassed and bedded areas (i.e. areas not covered by the Grounds Maintenance or MCC contracts if applicable) neat and tidy.
- To carry out regular security checks in the building. Ensuring the safety of service users. To deal effectively with any issues of misconduct of service users report to the relevant manager on duty.
- To be responsible for the basic security of the property and, where possible, be familiar with the operation of closed circuit television and security equipment.
In order to undertake this role to its fullest, you will require the following key skills, knowledge & experiences;
- Knowledge of community facilities health and safety compliance and legal requirements.
- Knowledge of the risk assessments and accident reporting processes
- Experience of carrying out maintenance and inspections on key building areas i.e. fire alarms, lift inspections, and reporting faults appropriately
- Experience of setting up rooms in line with booking sheets to meet the customers’ needs and requirements
- Experience of cleaning and carrying out minor repairs
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Experience of customer service delivery
