Ramsgate House Community Mental Health Team are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Practitioner for Occupational Therapy to join our successful, friendly and supportive team. You would be part of a large and experienced senior team within the CMHT. You will be one of two Senior Practitioner OT's in Salford community, supporting community transformation of services.

You will need to be an individual who is flexible, creative, committed and able to adapt positively to change. Can be organised, able to prioritise and works well under pressure.

You should also be able to work effectively taking a holistic approach to assessment and treatment working in partnership with service users and their carer’s promoting independence and recovery of people with serious and enduring mental health difficulties. You will also have a strong sense of initiative and an excellent team working ability.
1. Provide clinical and professional leadership, supervision, support and consultation to designated occupational therapy staff and MDT staff in the CMHT team, and in line with relevant clinical pathway (functional or dementia) as outlined within the CMHT operational procedure.
2. To support the Directorate Professional Lead for Occupational Therapy, in the operational and strategic development of the occupation therapy service.
3. Undertake liaison and effective working relationships with primary care services, including GP practices and consortia, local community facilities - statutory & non-statutory agencies.
4. To abide by the Royal College of Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, the Royal College of Occupational Therapy Professional Standards for OT Practice, and the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) Standards for registration, and ensure compliance of others.
5. To maintain own clinical and professional competence through designated ring fenced client caseload, using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions and record all interventions, in line with relevant clinical pathway )functional or dementia) as outlined within the CMHT operational procedure.
6. To act as duty assessor.
7. To participate in the service bronze on call rota.
8. Deputise for the CMHT Team Manager and AHP Professional Lead in his/her absence and take on any delegated duties as required.

We are looking for individuals with experience of working in a Community Mental Health Team and who possesses good leadership skills. Who can provide supervision and professional clinical support to Salford’s band 6 Occupational Therapists.

The post holder will providing senior leadership to the Ramsgate House Team and Occupational Therapists based at two other CMHTs and the Early Intervention Team whilst also undertaking the responsibilities of an Occupational Therapist/Care-Coordinator for a small caseload.

Regular clinical supervision from the professional Lead for Occupational Therapy will be offered and encouraged and there is also the opportunity to attend and engage in regular bi-monthly Allied Health Professionals CPD meetings. Also the AHP leads forum in Salford.

You will be offered protected time to complete the specific Occupational Therapy leadership and operational tasks of the role.
