Great Yarmouth Norse is a joint venture company between Norse Group and Great Yarmouth Borough Council. Its function is to deliver housing and non-housing property services to the Councils portfolio and provide property related advice and strategic vision.

Due to development within the department, Great Yarmouth Norse (GYN) have an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor to join the team. Your role of Building Surveyor is to successfully deliver high-quality property reviews, design solutions, specifications, building maintenance and surveying service across GYN operational teams. Taking responsibility for the management of client and project teams and to deliver building surveying services profitably, on time and to an agreed quality of standard.

You will be responsible for ensuring effective relationships with residents, other agencies and stakeholders within GYB/GYBC teams, particularly around leaseholder requirements. Close liaison with the Senior Investment Surveyor is required to ensure a joined-up property offering.
- Professional membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, Chartered Institute of Building or equivalent and be working to or prepared to work towards chartered status.
- HNC/HND or equivalent vocational qualification in a Building Maintenance related discipline.
- Extensive experience in contract management or maintenance.
- Experience working within social/affordable housing sector.
- Sound knowledge of the Building Regulations and other construction and building surveying related legislation.
- An understanding of current construction health and safety legislations, including CDM regulations.
