**Grade & Salary**:
WM SCP £32,876 per annum (£20,223 pro-rata)

**Hours of work**:
22.5 hours per week - including 1 Evenings per week

**Functional Responsibility**:
The post holders will work within an integrated IAPT Stepped model delivered in partnership with the Lead Provider in local NHS Trust (CNWL) who will provide the Step 2 delivery within the integrated IAPT Service

**Job Purpose**:
Work within a stepped care model to provide a range of NICE approved high intensity Step 3 interventions for depression

**Based at**:
Westminster based GP Practices or Monck Street Office (Pimlico) SW1P 2AE with some remote working possible

Mind in Brent, Wandsworth and Westminster Talking Therapies and Wellbeing Service has an established track record of delivering Talking Therapies across the boroughs in operates within.

As part of a remodelling of the of the provision IAPT in Westminster, we are looking for motivated Step 3 IAPT Counsellors to join our expanding Talking Therapies and Wellbeing Service in Westminster.

The post holders will work within a stepped care model to provide a range of NICE approved high intensity interventions for depression. Staff will be trained and qualified in one or more of the following modalities of treatment, Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) and Counselling for Depression (CFD).

The post holders will work within an integrated IAPT Stepped model delivered in partnership with the Lead Provider in local NHS Trust (CNWL) who will provide the Step 2 delivery within the integrated IAPT Service.

**Main Responsibilities**
- **
CLINICAL**
- Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service.
- Assess clients for suitability for Counselling / therapy.
- Formulate, implement, and evaluate therapy programmes for clients.
- Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient, in line with both National and Service targets.
- Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service.
- Keep coherent records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols.
- Work closely with other wider teams and staff ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach.
- **
PROFESSIONAL**
- Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to the employer and any regulating, professional and accrediting bodies (e.g. BACP, BPS, UKCP, BABCP), and keep up to date on new recommendations/guidelines set by the department of health (e.g. NHS plan, National Service Framework, National Institute for Clinical Excellence).
- Ensure that client confidentiality is protected at all times.
- Be aware of and keep up to date with advances in the spheres of Psychological therapies.
- Ensure clear professional objectives are identified, discussed, and reviewed with Senior therapists on a regular basis as part of continuing professional development.
- Attend clinical / managerial supervision on a regular basis as agreed with Manager.
- Participate in individual performance reviews / appraisals and respond to agreed objectives.
- Keep up to date all records in relation to Continuous Professional Development and ensure personal development plan maintains up to date specialist knowledge of latest theoretical and service delivery models/developments.
- Attend relevant conferences / workshops in line with identified professional objectives.

GENERAL**
- To contribute to the development of best practice within the service.
- To adhere to Brent, Wandsworth and Westminster Mind’s Policies and Procedures, including Talking Therapies clinical risk, safeguarding and other measures and frameworks.
- To maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies, and procedures in relation to Mental Health and Primary Care Services.
