Ealing IAPT was one of the first IAPT services to launch in 2008, and is one of the three services provided by West London NHS Trust. We are a large team of over 70 members of staff and are currently working on further expansion. Our main base is in Ealing where we have access to over 16 clinic rooms and two open plan offices. In addition to this, we run clinics at GP surgeries across the borough, covering areas such as Southall, Acton, and Chiswick. Our service is well-established and many of our staff have been with us since the beginning.

Ealing IAPT is passionate about offering a great quality therapy to our patients and we are very proud to be able to consistently offer all the IAPT-approved therapies, such as EMDR, DIT, IPT, BCT, and CfD. To that effect, we are committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of our staff and training in additional IAPT modalities is highly encouraged.

A typical week involves working a mixture of morning and afternoon/evening (12pm-8pm Monday to Thursday) shifts. The workload consists of reviewing incoming referrals, communicating with internal and external professionals in relation to patients’ care, advising on risk assessment and management and safeguarding queries management. Through this job plan we expect you to develop project management, teamwork and supervision skills with us.

You will not need to have a IAPT background or qualification and this is an excellent post for someone with a core profession that is looking to gain experience and to develop within a psychological team.

You will need experience of risk management and assessment and have an understanding of formulation and treatment of IAPT appropriate disorders. We are keen to fill gaps in experience through our comprehensive CPD and supervision programme.

Clinical and line management supervision is part of our success, and you will benefit from regular supervision, monthly line management supervision, and development of your clinical skills.

We are a flexible team and will be able to look at how to support your current qualifications such as AMHP responsibilities within this role.

West London NHS Trust is one of the most diverse providers of mental health, community and social care in the UK.

Our 3,982 staff care for people in hospital and in the community, helping them to recover and go on to lead full and productive lives. We aim to be the best organisation of our kind in the country.

We provide care and treatment for more than 800,000 people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow, delivering services in the community (at home, in GP surgeries and care homes), hospital, specialist clinics and forensic (secure) units.

We’re rated good overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Together, we’re committed to promoting hope and wellbeing, working with patients, service users, carers, families and partners across the communities we serve.

We are keen to ensure that our workforce reflects the community it serves, particularly in terms of ethnicity, gender, disability, LGBTQ+ and experience of mental illness.

The management team at Ealing IAPT is committed to staff wellbeing and we have recently commissioned a QI project on staff wellbeing, led by staff across the different staff groups within the team. As a result, we are now offering small, confidential reflective groups for our staff alongside many other exciting wellbeing initiatives.

We are passionate about engaging all groups of our community, and as such, we operate evening clinics (up until 8pm) Monday - Thursday. The post holder will be required to work shifts of 8am-4pm and/or 12-8pm as per service needs.

We think Ealing IAPT would be an ideal place for you to work if you wish to develop your clinical skills further. If you would like to discuss this opportunity in more detail, please contact one of our step 3 leads on 020 3313 5660.
