**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Delivering short-term (up to 6 sessions) of counselling for clients with personal or work related issues, who are off sick or at work, with a goal of returning staff back to recuperative/full duties
- Intermittent, longer-term, on-going support to suspended officers
- Advice/support to managers about counselling services
- Pre-selection and on-going monitoring screening, for vulnerable roles
- Presentations to groups on the counselling/OH services when agreed
- Trauma Support debriefs and follow up
- On call duties for urgent assessment of clients.
- Psychological screening as and when needed.
- Adhere to the policies for working in the counselling service.
- Demonstrate a commitment to professional development by attending all team meetings and development opportunities
- Participate in the development of occupational health and counselling policies and guidelines as requested
- Work pro-activity with colleagues to promote psychological well-being at work
- Represent Occupational Health at appropriate meetings both internally and externally as requested
- Any other roles as deemed fit by Clinical Lead - Counselling or Operational Head of Mental Health Services.

**Experience, skills and knowledge required for the role**
- Experienced in working in a highly demanding environment.
- Experience of delivering a brief counselling model.
- You must have at least 3 years' experience of working in a counselling service, occupational health or related service offering short term solution focussed therapy.
- Understand of the use of IAPT measurement form.
- Ability to work autonomously carrying out risk assessments on vulnerable clients.
- Registered with a professional body (I.E BACP, UKCP)
- CBT trained practitioners desirable but not essential.
