**Salary**: £35,142 - £40,246 + car allowance + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Due to continued growth, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Contractor Safety & Performance Co-Ordinator to join our team based in the South of England.

As a Contractor Safety & Performance Co-Ordinator you will be part of our Contractor Performance Team, responsible for the management and support of over 100 Contractors working across our Network.

**In this role, you’ll be responsible for**:

- Travel to all Southern Electric Power Distribution (SEPD) areas completing safety engagements, covering all work streams including but not limited to; substations, overhead lines, jointing, cable laying, tree cutting, civils, environmental and consultants.
- Direct contact with over 100 external contractors used by SSEN to ensure they are all compliant with all aspects of SHEQ, drive performance and outputs, set standards and reduce safety incidents. This will also include speaking to various levels within SSEN to gain an understanding of performance throughout the SEPD region.
- Play an active part in monitoring SHE performance including the sharing of lessons learnt from incident investigations and fostering a culture of high safety awareness.
- Provide positive and innovative management of contractors to complete works safely and provide excellent service to both internal and external customers.

**What do I need?**

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Robust knowledge of operational activities on distribution networks, including overhead, underground and substation works (although training will be provided).
- Working knowledge of UK safety legislation relating to our business, and experience of working with safety management policies and strategies.
- Good knowledge of design, planning, construction, maintenance and operational field practices in the distribution, or similar industry.
- A great communication skills and an ability to relay complex messages in an easy to understand manner, including negotiating and influencing skills, forming positive working relationships with people at all levels.
- Any experience of governance systems and procurement law would be highly advantageous.

A full UK Driving licence is required to be considered
