**Job Title: Health Care Assistant**

**Reports To**: Supervisor/Manager

**Position Type**: Full-time (37.5 hours)

**Salary**:£23,500 (12.21ph)

**Job Summary**

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Patient Care**: Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and mobility. Ensure patients' comfort and safety at all times.
- **Monitoring Health**: Measure and record vital signs like blood pressure, temperature, and pulse. Observe patients for changes in health status and report to the nursing staff.
- **Medical Support**: Assist with basic medical procedures and tasks under the supervision of registered nurses or doctors. Administer medications as directed and document care provided.
- **Personal Support**: Provide emotional and social support to patients. Listen to their concerns and relay relevant information to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- **Hygiene Maintenance**: Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring cleanliness in patient areas.
- **Documentation**: Accurately document patient information, care activities, and observations in medical records and care plans.
- **Equipment Use**: Operate and maintain medical and mobility equipment used in patient care. Report any malfunctions or need for repairs.
- **Team Collaboration**: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to patient care.
- **Education and Training**: Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay current with best practices in healthcare and patient care.

**Qualifications**
- **Education**: NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification. Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Health Care Assistant (HCA) is preferred.
- **Experience**: Experience in home care or care home settings is advantageous. New graduates are welcome to apply.
- **Skills**:

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and assist with patient mobility.
- Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and medical record documentation.
- **Personal Attributes**:

- Empathy and a caring nature.
- Patience and the ability to handle stressful situations calmly.
- Dependability and strong work ethic.
- Good command of English language for effective communication with patients and colleagues.
- Valid UK driving license (advantageous)
- **Certifications**: Current CPR and First Aid certification.
