The Golf Team at The Carnegie Club
- Here at Skibo, our golf team is at the very heart of the club.
- With the majority of our members and guests enjoying some golf during their stay, the golf team are front and centre of our day-to-day operation.
- The Clubhouse hosts lunch for all residents, and dinners through the summer months too which, along with the beautiful shop environment, make it a real hub of activity.
- The golf team ensure the smooth and efficient running of the golf service, from teaching to facilities maintenance, retail to event hosting.

About the role
- Based at the Clubhouse, you'll help to create a warm and welcoming environment for members and guests, getting to know them and learning to pre-empt any wants, needs or requests they may have.
- You'll ensure the front of the Clubhouse is clean, well organised and ready to receive any arrivals throughout the day.
- You'll help members and guests with their allocated locker, offer club cleaning, organise trollies, book lessons and arrange anything else the guest may require.
- You'll provide teaching services to those who wish to work on their game, making use of the club's driving range and short game practice areas.
- You'll support your colleagues in the shop with a number of retail tasks, including serving members and guests using the point of sale system, merchandising and displays, stock control, general cleaning and maintenance of the store.
- You'll aim to give day visitors the very best experience during their time at the club, carrying clubs, helping them get set up for their round, offering tips for the course and generally giving them an amazing day of golf.
- You'll be a part of the club's golf events, ensuring they run to plan and providing members and guests with a fun and enjoyable time with us.

Who we are looking for
- You'll be a PGA Professional, or about to qualify soon, and have some experience of working in a golf environment.
- You're a confident, diligent individual who is passionate about providing the very best hospitality.
- A strong team player, you thrive on ensuring any requests are dealt with swiftly and to a high standard.
- You're happy dealing with guests face-to-face and take a pro-active approach to your work.
- A clear communicator, you have strong computer skills and are comfortable with general administration tasks. Ideally you will have worked with a POS system.
- You're dependable and can be relied upon to work unsupervised, as well as be the face of the club's golf operation.

About Gratuities and Service Charge
- Gratuities (tips) and service charge (an additional charge added to room rates and other services at the Club that is passed directly to staff) are paid to all employees on a pro-rata basis regardless of their role.
- It is estimated that in 2023, full-time staff can expect to receive around £4,000 in addition to their annual salary.
