**Job Title**:Finance Business Partner
**Location**:Hemswell**, **DN21 5TU
**Shift Pattern**: Hybrid, 3 days in the office: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm
**Role Description**
This is a full-time hybrid role (with flexibility for some remote work) for a Finance Business Partner located in Hemswell Cliff. The Finance Business Partner will be responsible for providing targeted commercial analysis and play a key role in driving profitability in the business. This will be achieved by compiling budgets, forecasting, analysis of sales, margin, product profitability and cost, and feedback on any variances. Building strong relationships with the Leadership, Sales & Operational Teams will be essential for the role, as will the flexibility to carry out ad-hoc project work.
**Key Tasks and Accountabilities**:
- Responsibility for influencing financial strategy for the business through providing accurate, concise and timely information to the leadership team to achieve the committed results.
- Creation and use of monthly KPIs and key financial information to steer the business and highlight performance deviations from plan with the Leadership Team.
- To ensure the integrity of the inventory postings through to the PL. To include but not be limited to; communication of traceability of movements, slow and blocked inventory review, valuation, sales to budget, and timely consumption movements.
- Ensure external and internal policy and audit requirements are met for all areas of inventory control & fixed asset projects.
- Identify & monitor the profitability and efficiency of the company’s activities.
- Ensuring the integrity of SAP master data and ongoing harmonisation of use with the wider Plastipak group, including all SAP routings, costings, bills of materials etc.
**Key Results Areas**
- Ownership of the profit and loss account and balance sheet with a focus on margin, operating costs and inventory. Work closely with manufacturing and supply chain to ensure that all information is accurate, explainable and credible to improve profitability.
- Develop and improve management information systems with the manufacturing and supply chain teams to generate meaningful KPI’s (yield, cost, labour and spoilage).
- Proactively seek and implement cost and efficiency savings throughout the business.
- Ensure compliance with the Group’s accounting policies and procedures, including SOX and both US & UK GAAP accounting methodologies.
- Control the value of inventory to optimise working capital; ensure accurate provisions.
- Produce robust capital expenditure project charters. Own the financial aspects of the capex process, including post-implementation reviews.
- Produce monthly cost centre reports and review with owners to investigate variances.
- Respond to audit request responses in a timely and effective way.
- Manage the budget and forecasting process in line with group requirements.
**Knowledge & Experience**:
- Qualified CIMA accountant.
- A strong background in manufacturing.
- Strong track record of use of ERP systems, preferably SAP, demonstrating ability to own and developing manufacturing accounting processes.
- Solid understanding of both US and UK GAAP accounting principles and methodologies.
- Good Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word & Powerpoint).
- 5+ years of relevant experience influencing at various levels of the business, up to board level.
- Able to juggle conflicting priorities to achieve deadlines and a flexible approach to problem solving.
