SSCL are looking for a Project Support Officer to join our Projects team who support on a number of project for our Government clients. As a Project Officer you will support Project Leads with a variety of tasks to help progress major projects forward as well as taking ownership for some smaller projects.

As our teams are based in a few of our offices you can be based in either Newport, York or Newcastle with an expectation to be in the office minimum of once per month, occasionally more for client and team meetings.

**What you'll be doing**:

- To manage necessary resources and dependencies, including client and delivery partner inputs.
- To develop a good overall understanding of the client’s process (sub-processes)
- To provide inputs to project planning and monitor progress to plan
- To follow reliably established method and toolsets required to ensure consistent repeatable delivery. This includes, but is not limited to, project and programme tools and methods.
- To liaise closely with client team members to ensure that progress “on the ground” is clear and reliable.
- To utilise team resources effectively, demonstrating ability to manage through others across geographies.
- To provide input from a delivery perspective according to the nature of the project - covering pre-sales, bid, due-diligence, transition, CIP and other activities that would have an impact on delivery.
- To ensure that effective communication is in place with line management, client parties, delivery partners and team members.
- To provide day to day detail management of Sopra Steria Client and partner resources to achieve delivery of agreed output and contribute and support effort required to stabilise and hand-over component stream to agreed operational delivery structure (BAU)
