The Store Planning team is responsible for delivering investment proposals across the Sainsburys & Argos brand, working with multiple stakeholders to deliver right first time as part of a dynamic and fast paced team.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate experience in spatial design, excellent communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders across the business.

Design store layouts to company specification and standards, achieving operational efficiency and customer requirements, such that they maximise value and can achieve the company treatment without adjustment or customisation, as contained in the specification planning documents. (Ensuring that H&S, food safety and other statutory and organisational regulations are met within the layouts.)

Ensure timely delivery of layouts to the Lead Store Planner throughout the store investment process, with timescales met and proposals correctly installed to company requirements, while coordinating inputs from SSL functional experts and external consultants.

Deliver compliant layouts for input into the space and commodity system, to achieve corporate ranging, merchandising and trading systems requirements. Support the data co-ordinator in the integrity of store plans and data for all store investments. Accurate data is vital to the cost effective procurement and fit out of stores.

Adhere to the approval and change control process for all layout changes post approval and/or sign off, working in conjunction with Sainsbury’s colleagues and ensuring retail are engaged along the way.

Support key stakeholders and colleagues in achieving individual project investments to time, cost and quality. E.g. Project managers, Retail, Commercial Operations, etc.

Experience and knowledge of spatial design preferably in retail

Good communication skills (written and oral)

Experience in working with cross functional teams
- Structured approach and clear deadline focus

Experience of timelines associated with different investment project types
