Special Needs Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a full or part-time Teaching Assistant to provide support to a Special School on the outskirts of Cambridge. The post is to start as soon as possible
Although direct experience is desirable,
it is not essential,
transferable skills may come from roles such as; youth work, social work, care, personal experience. You may also be a university graduate with degrees in: Psycohology
Classroom duties:
- Supporting students with additional needs such as; autistic spectrum condition and those with complex physical and sensory impairments.
- Working to ensure the student receives an inclusive education with 1:1 support, based on their individual social, educational and intellectual needs.
- Maintain the classroom and equipment in a safe and tidy condition.
- Contribute to record-keeping by recording observations of pupils during the school day.
- Communicate your knowledge and understanding of students to other school staff
- Demonstrate positive attitude, values and behaviours consistent with the role and in line with the expectations
- Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities.
- Provide teaching and learning support including the use of appropriate technical resources
Hours: Monday - Friday vary between 8.15 - 8.45 start and a 3.45 - 4.15 finish.
Pay: £70 - £85 per day / £350 - £425 per week

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
