Family Support Practitioner 2438

Dereham, United Kingdom Norfolk County Council Full time

**Temporary contract until April 2024 | 37 hours per week | £30,151 to £32,020 per annum (Grade H) | Dereham**

Children's Services are seeking to recruit a Family Support Practitioner for our team in Breckland.

Early Help encompasses the work of a broad range of partners supporting families and individuals during often challenging and difficult times. Much of this work, although not exclusively, is undertaken in partnership with others. The development of universal Early Help Hubs across Norfolk has helped partners to gain a greater understanding of each other’s work and to develop networks and collaboration for the benefit of the residents of Norfolk.

Family Support is the targeted end of Early Help operating at the edge of more intensive and or statutory services. Our Practitioners provide support to families with the most complex needs, whose situations without targeted intervention will escalate to become acute, chronic and result in the child/young person and their family requiring social care or other statutory intervention. There is a strong emphasis on partnership working across all agencies and Family Support Practitioners undertake direct work with families in the community to bring about long-lasting social change.

You will undertake direct work with children and their families, working within statutory legislation and delivering interventions prioritised by the line manager. You will have shared accountability with other team members for achieving required team performance targets (particularly Step Up / Step Down & DCLG Troubled Families payment by results targets).

Flexibility is built into the way we work, with hybrid working a key feature for many roles. Our technology platform and equipment are first class, enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We ask that you have in place good Broadband connectivity.

You can also find out about the rewards and benefits we offer as well as our other terms and conditions.

**Closing date: 20 March 2023**

We have miles of beautiful coastline and our unique Broads, thriving market towns and a city with a proud cultural heritage. Our economy is growing and driven by innovation in a number of sectors, including energy and food. We also have ambitious plans for new housing and a building programme for schools across Norfolk. Our county a great place to live, work and visit, and is an excellent environment for businesses to start, grow and innovate.

We are the main local authority for Norfolk providing services countywide to more than 850,000 Norfolk residents. We take the lead in critical policy areas, working with 84 elected Members responsible for the strategic local government services in the county.

We provide a high quality service through involving people who use our services to shape and comment on them and by promoting efficiency and innovation.

We work in partnership with local businesses, voluntary organisations and other local authorities such as District and Parish Councils to provide the people of Norfolk with excellent services.
