Dereham, United Kingdom Norfolk County Council Full time

**Permanent Contract | 37 hours per week | £32,909 to £34,723 per annum (Scale I) | Norwich**

At Norfolk County Council our commitment to providing proven, quality, holistic residential services for young people aged 7-17 aims to achieve excellent outcomes and lasting results. We are passionate about the provision of creative and ambitious opportunities for our young people, supporting them to thrive and develop in a nurturing and safe environment which promotes the emotional and physical well-being of children. Our services are well regarded, and we are proud of our reputation for not giving up on children with very complex needs.

This is a single/dual children’s residential home, located North West of Norwich. We will take planned placements, where on the time of admission, their assessed needs can reasonably be met by the service with support from other external services such as health, education and social care.

You will be joining a highly motivated and enthusiastic team who endeavour to make significant changes in young people’s lives.

As the Senior Practitioner, you will be expected to contribute to an assessment of the child's needs with the objective of either reunification; a move to a family or community-based placement or a longer term or more specialised residential home.

You will be part of the management team and required to take part in the out of hours on call system, as well as sleep in duties at the home.

Ideally you will have a background in residential care or be experienced in working with children. You will be required to have a Level 3 Children and Young People Residential Diploma, experience of direct working with children and families and knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations. You will be expected to supervise staff.

To work within this environment, you will need to be committed to making a difference in the lives of young people. You will need to be reliable, have good personal relationship and communication skills as well as high professional standards.
