We're hiring a **Post-Doctoral Environmental Exposure Researcher** within the Research & Development (R&D) function in the United Kingdom for a one-year period, with the possibility of a one-year extension.

**Purpose**

You will be a part of our Predictive Safety Centre which is responsible for advancing Corteva products in the early stages of development. The objective is to develop a mechanistic model of pesticide degradation in soil, working in collaboration with Durham University's Dept. of Earth Sciences and Corteva Scientists.

**Your Challenge**:

- Primarily to develop a mechanistic model of pesticide degradation, to predict the half-life of a molecule in agricultural soils.
- Keep abreast of the latest scientific developments in agrichemical degradation simulations, through literature review and relevant technical networks, to enable effective communication with colleagues, project teams and the wider scientific community.
- The initial phase of the project will be to elicit information and develop a Bayesian network for the basis of the physical modelling.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external multidisciplinary teams, collaborators, and consultants to meet business needs.
- A small amount of travel will be necessary in the UK and perhaps overseas.
- Publication of the successful research will be expected.

**Qualifications**:** To Grow What Matters, You Will Need**
- Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a similar science degree.
- Preferably some post-doctoral experience working in a similar area, ideally with knowledge of constructing mechanistic models.
- High professional proficiency in English, other languages are an asset.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to different stakeholder audiences.
