The Health and Safety Executive’s (HSE’s) mission is to prevent people being killed, injured or made ill by work activities.

We help businesses and people understand how the laws keep people safe and well at work, how this may affect them and provide guidance on what to do. To help us achieve this we employ the largest concentration of health and safety experts in the country including frontline inspectors, specialists, policy delivery teams, economists, lawyers and administrators, all working together to help protect people.

**Job description**:
The Regulatory Training Programme (RTP) Team is responsible for the training of new recruited trainee regulatory and specialist health and safety inspectors. Working closely with the Business to support the continuous yearly cohorts through the RTP, you will play a key role in contributing to the successful delivery of the programme.

The preparation and support needed to assist the complex programme, includes assigning trainees to the relevant training pathway on HSE’s Learning Management System (LMS), scheduling the delivery timetables and trainee allocations.

As an Administrative Support Officer, you will also assist with the delivery of a programme of events to support trainees and Line manager/Assessors, such as webinars and drop in sessions across the country.

You should have strong planning and organisational skills as well as being proficient in MS Office and have a keen eye for detail. You will be fully involved in continuous improvement activity, acting as a role model to drive the changes required.

**Hybrid Working**

This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your allocated office will be your contractual place of work. There will be a requirement to travel to the office for various activities e.g., collaborative working, supporting and training colleagues.

**Person specification**:

- As an Administrative Support Officer, you will play an important role in helping to deliver the RTP. Your duties will include (but not be restricted to):
- Act as Cohort lead
- Providing support to the RTP office, trainees and the delivery team.
- Maintenance of Cohort trackers (MS Excel)
- Uploading course details to LMS
- Liaison with key internal and external stakeholders regarding training dates and venues
- Assist in the planning and administrative tasks for key milestones (Legal Assessments, Assignments)
- Assigning trainees to the relevant training programme on the LMS
- Scheduling the trainers delivery timetables and trainee allocations, ensuring changes are actioned in a timely manner
- Assisting with the delivery of RTP events (i.e. webinars, and drop in sessions) to support trainees and Line manager/Assessors.

**Essential Criteria**:

- A team player with good collaboration skills, with experience of working within a close team
- Good written and verbal communication
- Good organisational skills, to work within a fast-paced environment, competing priorities and ensuring a quality service provided.
- Competent MS Office skills, particularly Word and Excel
- Good experience of working within a delivery team
- Good communication skills (both written and oral) to persuade and influence both internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent time management and planning skills
