- Permanent, full time hours 37.5hrs (9am-5pm)

**Salary -** Competitive (dependent on skills & experience). This post is equivalent to an NHS band 7 position.

**About the Post
The successful post holder will work autonomously to provide dietary care to Hematology and Oncology inpatients and outpatients.

**Duties & Responsibilities
- To provide specialist nutrition advice to patients, their carers and HCPs through formulation of treatment and education plans and prescription of nutrition support. This involves the collection and interpretation of anthropometry, requesting and interpretationof biochemistry, consideration of the financial implications and distress to the patient, their clinical profile and individual dietary information.
- Using specialised knowledge to manage a caseload in haematology, bone marrow transplant, general oncology and complex nutritional support in adults.
- Comparing normal nutritional requirements and interpreting these for the patient according to their disease process to initiate and maintain a treatment plan.
- Attendance at ward rounds, daily huddles and MDT meetings to take part in the decision-making about the patient’s clinical care.
- To liaise with and provide the catering department with expert advice on special diets and arrange the provision of specific dietary items or modifications to ensure patients nutritional needs are met.
- To have autonomous responsibility for the planning and prioritisation of clinical caseload.
- Communicating complex information regarding dietary management to the multidisciplinary team to provide a holistic approach to patient care.

**Skills & Experience
- Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent
- HCPC Registered
- Post registration clinical experience
